Volunteering with Advice Plus Barking & Dagenham

A survey of advice providers in Barking and Dagenham has identified that there are numerous dedicated volunteers providing advice services in the borough.

Volunteering can be immensely rewarding and people choose to volunteer for many different reasons. For some it offers a chance to give something back to their local community or make a difference. For others it provides an opportunity to develop their experience, knowledge and to build new skills.

This commitment varies from a few hours a week to others giving a full time commitment.
Barking and Dagenham Advice Plus project is committed to the expansion of quality trained advice volunteers in the borough, with a view to continue to improve access to quality advice in the borough and will do this by delivering:

  • Quality assured, current and structured day training
  • Structured Gateway Assessor and Advisor pathways
  • Apprenticeships
  • QCF in Legal Advice (Levels 2 and 3)

Advice volunteers for Advice Plus will require a minimum commitment of 2 days volunteering per week as advice trainees. For other volunteer roles, the time commitment can be less. To register your interest to become an Advice Plus volunteer email us at advicplus@bdcab.org.uk.
