The Advice Plus Partnership is funded through ASTF: Advice Services Transition Fund

Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery Fund Advice Services Transition Fund, the Barking and Dagenham Advice Plus Partnership will be able to respond to the challenging circumstances advice providers and those dependent on their services are facing. This website is a local ‘one-stop-shop’ hub of quality assured advice services in the borough.

Advice Learning Bureau (ALB) provides advice services on Immigration, Employment, Housing and Debt Management.

Opening times: Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm.


Age UK
 

Age UK

Age UK offer older residents of Barking and Dagenham the following services:

  • A volunteer led befriending service for isolated older people
  • Assistance with long term Bathing and Showering needs
  • Support to people recently diagnosed with dementia
  • Advice and information about welfare benefits, care and health
  • Opening times: Monday- Friday 9am to 5pm

Barking and Dagenham Racial Equality Council (BDREC) offer free drop in General advice/ support and advice in relation to benefit applications, benefit appeals, housing, educations, specialist advice in Debt Counselling, Domestic Violence, Sexual Abuse, Hate Crime, Discrimination, Employment. They also offer help with form filling and we also use bi-lingual advice workers wherever possible.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP)

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) provide residents in the borough with support on welfare rights and benefits and debt. They also work with clients on debt management with money courses and support clients with advocacy around repossessions and insolvency and bankruptcy orders.

Independent Living Agency (ILA) offer disabled residents in Barking and Dagenham a number of services:

  • Transportation services
  • Disability equipment
  • Advocacy services in terms of welfare rights and benefits, mental health and others
  • A payroll service that clients can purchase to manage the costs for care
